With a passion for the field of aging and making a difference in people’s lives, Athena is a supporter of education and community resources for family caregivers. She is active with many organizations that strive to connect community with resources for older adults as well as adults living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her perspective on dementia comes from both personal and professional experience. She has encountered numerous caregivers who share their struggles to understand and cope with this disease. It is these experiences that inspired Athena to create Journey Through Alzheimers. Athena earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the University of Illinois in Chicago. She currently serves on the board of Continuity Care, an advocate for legislative and health care related concerns.
